Aguantadora Despalada is a yerba mate from Argentina specially blended from almost exclusively leaves, with a minimal proportion of twigs (palo). This creates a powerful, pure and long-lasting flavor that is ideal for lovers of a strong mate.
Because the blend consists almost exclusively of leaves, this yerba contains a higher caffeine content than a classic blend. This makes Aguantadora Despalada particularly suitable if you are looking for extra energy and focus during the day.

Rosamonte's stemless option: strong, energizing, and surprisingly balanced despite being sin palo. Extended aging (12-18 months) combined with coarse leaf grinding creates something unique, it tastes more approachable than typical sin palo mates while delivering genuine energy and character. This is your morning mate.
What does Rosamonte Despalada taste like?
Rosamonte Despalada tastes surprisingly approachable for a sin palo format: quite unusual for Argentine yerba mate with an oily aroma resembling extra virgin olive oil, bitter savory notes, and earthy plummy undertones with minimal smoke despite barbacuá drying. The taste profile is balanced bitter-sweet with notes of olive oil, tobacco character, black tea, and herbal-woodsy notes that are subtle and hard to precisely define. Strong but pleasant bitterness balances well with sweetness, creating a relatively simple mate (less complex than Tradicional or Especial) with quick finishing that allows fast drinking cadence without extended pauses between sips.
About the manufacturer
Rosamonte Despalada is produced using Rosamonte's signature barbacuá drying method followed by 12-18 months of aging that develops complexity while mellowing harshness. The coarse grind is Rosamonte's distinctive characteristic, and despite 90%+ leaf content (sin palo standards), the extended aging and careful production create balanced flavor rather than raw intensity. The company's modern facilities and quality control laboratory ensure consistent results batch after batch, while the commitment to seedling selection and atmospheric optimization creates superior plants from the start.
How do you prepare Rosamonte Despalada?
Fill your gourd about two-thirds full with Rosamonte Despalada, tilt it, and add lukewarm water along the tilted side. Add hot water at 70-75°C (temperature control is essential (precision delivers balanced taste and longest duration). Use a spoon bombilla (preferred) or slotted bombilla; the powder content builds a mountain but doesn't clog easily. Refill with hot water as needed), you'll get 20-25 refills of energizing flavor. The simplified flavors mean no flavor evolution during the session, but the consistent quality and morning-perfect energy make this worth your time.
It is said that the Paraguayan Yerba Mate has fans especially among people who like its typical bitterness. Paraguayans mainly drink strong and dusty yerba mate with a robust bitter aftertaste. The product contains no additives - they are unnecessary. The natural flavor of Ilex paraguariensis seasoned with this smoky flavor is a hit!

Three types of mint meet mountain herbs in this refreshing blend. Union Hierbas Serranas brings the cool, crisp character of Argentine serrano (mountain) herbs into Union's smooth baseline, creating something that's more pronounced than citrus blends while still maintaining the brand's signature mildness and approachability.
What does Union Hierbas Serranas taste like?
Union Hierbas Serranas tastes mild and refreshing, with three types of mint creating a complex cooling sensation that feels natural rather than icy. Peppermint provides the strongest mint character, while field mint and poleo add subtle variations underneath. The cooling effect is noticeable but not artificial, offering a refreshing mouthfeel that lingers pleasantly. The herbal notes are more pronounced than the citrus blend, yet the smooth Union foundation preserves the flavor balance, preventing any one element from taking over.
About the manufacturer
Hierbas Serranas combines peppermint (Mentha piperita), field mint (Mentha spp.), and poleo (Marsypianthes chamaedrys. Argentine pennyroyal), all natural components with no artificial additives. Produced by Establecimiento Las Marías using the same meticulous sourcing and quality control that defines their flagship brands. The herbal components are traditionally valued for digestive support and cooling properties, making this as functional as it is flavorful.
How do you prepare Union Hierbas Serranas?
Prepare Serranas using standard mate preparation: fill your gourd three-quarters full, add lukewarm water, then hot water at 70-80°C. This mate is also excellent as cold tereré.
