More than 100 years of family expertise goes into every pack of Amanda Traditional. This classic yerba mate from La Cachuera S.A. in Apóstoles, Misiones embodies authentic Argentinian tradition: balanced, soft and surprisingly sweet. Amanda Traditional is the dependable everyday choice.
What does Amanda Traditional taste like?
Amanda Traditional has a soft, woody and surprisingly sweet character that sets it apart from more powerful Argentinian varieties. The pleasant woody aroma carries fresh notes of cake batter and vanilla, while the flavour reveals soft nuances of wood and hay with a fine hint of bread. Sweet, agreeable notes of caramel, popcorn, grain and sugar cane come forward as you drink on, the light sweetness building with every sip. Not very bitter, pleasant and, on the whole, relatively mild.
About the producer
Amanda is produced by La Cachuera S.A., a family business founded in the 1920s by Polish immigrant Juan Szychowski in Apóstoles, Argentina's national capital of yerba mate. The company manages plantations on the La Negrita and Santa María estates and works with ecological methods, using virtually no agricultural chemicals and relying on organic fertilisers. An in-house laboratory and a team of professionals maintain consistent quality.
How do you drink Amanda Traditional?
Fill your gourd about three quarters with Amanda Traditional, tilt the gourd and pour lukewarm water down the sloped side. Add hot water at 70-80°C and place your bombilla (metal filter straw). Pass it round your circle or enjoy it alone, refilling with hot water as soon as the flavour starts to fade.
